Fitting your suit

Fit is the most important feature of any article of clothing but this is particularly true with suits and sports coats. Most department stores that sell suits offer suit refitting at a good price. This generally won't be advertised so you will have to ask. The key in looking for your size in a jacket si the collar and shoulders. Every other part of the jacket can be let in or out and the sleeves can be shortened or extended but the shoulders and neck cannot be altered. When trying on a jacket make sure the collar doesn't bunch up on your neck this means that it is too large. Alternately if you cant swing your arms all the way across your chest the jacket is too small. Make sure that the jacket does not hang too far over your shoulder and make sure that it reaches to your shoulder.

Once you have a jacket of the proper shoulder and neck proportions you can have the rest altered. Practically any altercation that you want is possible. You can have the waist and sleeves set to fit you perfectly. Follow this tip and you can have thousand dollar look for much cheaper.
